If you have heard the superb new solo-piano album by MICHAEL SAMSON, then you know there is talent in town. I had never heard of this guy before, but he has the goods all right.
Samson had a philosophical concept in mind we he created the music (and the sounds reflect that). Ok, now this is heavy, so get ready. He calls it THE BIG PARADOX. He says there is a hidden world beneath the surface of everyday life where you can discover meaningful movement and rhythms, the beauty in opposites and contradictions, and often-unrecognized connections between people. He says it is like THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT where one little thing (like a butterfly flapping its wings) on one side of the world can eventually affect people and events on the other side of the globe.
So Samson took these ideas and incorporated them into the music -- subtle rhythm things, varying tempos, songs with different sections that still relate to each other.
The bottom-line is that the music sounds good, so if you have not listened yet, get the CD and get it into your player pronto. The name of the recording is A STILL MOTION.
